Welcome! ¡Bienvenido!

I am Pablo Rodriguez-Fernandez, a PhD candidate at the Plasma Science and Fusion Center at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

With an Industrial Engineer degree from the Universidad Politecnica de Madrid (Spain) and a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University (Philadelphia, US), I am currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Nuclear Science and Engineering at MIT.

My current research focuses on understanding transport processes in magnetically confined plasmas, particularly during transient perturbations in the Alcator C-Mod and DIII-D tokamaks. I am also interested in the use of machine learning algorithms for optimization and the integrated "whole-device" modeling of fusion reactors.
